“That’s what dreams are made of” is a quote that we’ve all heard a gazillion times by now, and “Dream” by Van Halen is a song that you’ve probably heard more times then you care to admit. But this testament still solidly applies to Ryan Golden-Marsh’s 2013 Honda Accord Coupe EX-L build, also known as Sadistic Dreams. Anyone that knows or has been around Bobby Martins of Sadistic Iron Werks knows damn well that this business owner does not play when it comes to putting out some of the most wicked creations seen on any continent. And when it came time to build his Honda. Ryan knew that when it came time to get serious that this top shop would be the one to make his laid-out dream come true.

Having been around his fair share of bad ass custom vehicles, Ryan had a keen sense of what his next build would be. He had seen some great looking cars at Wichita Honda and decided he wanted to buy one. Previously having built a ’95 Toyota Tacoma, which incorporated a stock-floor bodydrop, he knew flipping the script on his next build would be just what the doctor ordered. Ryan was looking to lay out a new body 9th Gen Accord and when he saw that Sadistic was offering up one of his killer deals on a full install the same day that he signed the papers to become the new owner of a fresh Accord he knew that destiny was calling. Bobby was more than happy to take on the build and a date was set to drop off the new Accord for it’s date with the pavement. With only 143 miles on the odometer (after the drive up to Sadistic), Bobby was set to go full on “Paper Plate Mafia” style on another brand new ride.

Sadistic Iron Werks quickly got busy with ripping the Honda apart for the build. For suspension front and rear, Bobby chose to modify a set of Air Lift Performance struts all the way around to get the car as low as he wanted to go and still achieve a killer ride. Rounding out the air setup was, Bobby wasted no time and began to map out the stainless hardlines and AccuAir management setup that blends seamlessly into the trunk of the car. Viair stealth black compressors were tied in with a custom rubber isolator and mount system, which massively reduces compressor noise and vibration. Dual Specialty Suspension seamless air tanks were powdercoated prior to being mounted, and wraps thing up quite nicely.

What custom car build is complete without the perfect set of wheels to tie it all together? This “Sadistic Dream” was rounded off with a killer set of Rovos Wheels Durbans in a deep concave with gloss black outter and machined face – rocking the 20×8.5s in the front and 20x10s out back. Toyo Proxes ensure that Ryan stays firmly planted on the pavement cruising at high speeds and R1 Concepts custom engraved rotors ensure that he doesn’t run any red lights while cruising in his hometown of San Diego.

As with any late model car there are plenty of options to help boost the performance of the motor. The Honda Accord came equipped with an impressive V6 24-valve SOHC motor. A K&N Short Ram Intake was installed and the resonator was deleted from the exhaust. Sadistic Iron Werks added a custom-built engine cover, which helps clean up the engine bay a bit. Another one of the finer things about owning a newer vehicle is the plush interior options and all the gizmos and gadgets. Sadistic built a custom floating mount for touch pad controller, which makes it super easy for Ryan to raise and lower the car from his factory leather bucket seat throne. With the dream complete, the only thing left now is to enjoy it. We hear rumors that Ryan has already switched up the wheels to a new option from Rovos and might even make a SEMA appearance in a couple weeks.

Ryan really wanted to give a big shout out to Bobby Martins at Sadistic Iron Werks for helping his “Sadistic Dream” come true (yes, we know the meaning here but it’s a joke between the owner and shop so we ran with it). He also wanted to say thanks to his fiancé, Nikki Dimonde, for finding the perfect project for him to springboard into action and Slam’d Mag for sharing it with the world.
