Held this last weekend (March 6th and 7th) in beautiful “Old Town” – the Temecula Rod Run was a huge hit! Perfect weather, kicking off with the Friday Night Cruise hundreds of classic vehicles from all over the country cruise Old Town Front Street with plenty of great restaurant choices for an evening bite. The City of Temecula shuts down Old Town from “Arch to Arch” to allow these classic beauties to cruise the streets unhindered. Crowds and spectators line the streets while these classics cruise by with the rumbling of their engines, and some even wow the crowds with some revving action. But Friday night is just a small preview for what the show has in store.

The Temecula Rod Run show attracts thousands of automotive enthusiasts and spectators year in and year out. With more than 800 cars lining up and down the streets of Old Town, including classics, hot rods, customs, trucks, and lowriders. It’s no secret that the sunny West Coast brings out some of the finest rides, and with this event being open and free to the public it’s packed sidewalk to sidewalk. With live music and entertainment, local vendors, great food, and of course the event merchandise up for grabs, there truly is something for everyone in attendance.

One of the really cool things about this show is the up close and personal interaction with the cars on hand. A lot of times we’ll be lucky enough to find the owner sitting right next to his car or cleaning it throughout the day so we’re able to catch a story or two about the history and build. The City of Temecula hosts this event as a community event welcoming all pre-1966 vehicles (with some exceptions) and works hard to ensure a fun, relaxing, and smooth running event for both participants and spectators alike. Making for a great day with family, friends, and car lovers – this is definitely one of those “small-town” shows that has really become something larger than life, and one you don’t want to miss! Mark your calendars for the first weekend in March, and we’ll see you there next year!
