Next up in our adventures across the globe, we made a rather fun detour and hit the Gulf Coast to check out one of the baddest custom shows in the South! Scrapin’ the Coast is located in the beautiful city of Biloxi right off the Gulf Coast of Mississippi. The show is held at The Mississippi Coast Coliseum and Convention Center and features an emourmous outdoor show along with an indoor section within the coliseum. If you haven’t heard of this show, then you need to get with the times because it’s been growing year by year since it’s inception in 2002, more than 12 years ago. What began as a couple great friend’s throwing a local family show has quickly turned into the south’s largest car, truck and bike event with thousands of vehicles flooding the gate.

With jaw-dropping customs ranging from slammed minis to classic street rods, as well as muscle cars, full-size trucks, and even a full custom motorcycle section. There was truly something for everyone and the sheer amount of spectators that filled the grounds throughout the weekend proved as much. Cruisin’ the show grounds and enjoying the nice weather, it’s easy to get distracted by all the gorgeous rides lined up row after row. If you follow where the camera takes you, sometimes you tend to wander all over the place randomly without a rhyme or reason. But this actually becomes the best way to enjoy a show and take in the sights because it’s no longer “work” as you become engulfed with the amazing machines in ever direction.

With such a beautiful venue and picture perfect weather, this show definitely ranks up there as one of our favorites to attend. It doesn’t hurt that the surrounding areas and amenities include more than 10 different upscale casinos to choose from, with more being built up each year.  Whether you happen to be feeling lucky and want to try and “win” your next mod at the blackjack tables, or want to grab a bite in one of the many fine restaurants, or checkout one of the headline entertainment events, this is the perfect getaway to come for the car show but stay for the fun. We always look forward to this show and you can rest assured that Slam’d Mag will be on hand for next year’s event. If you haven’t had the chance to check this one out, mark your calendars and make arrangements to be there in 2015, we promise you won’t regret it. For more information and lodging info, visit Scrapin’ The Coast and book early!
